It’s time to stand up and HELP!!!!

I am Megan Haynes and I attend Xavier University of Louisiana. This week has been very interesting and a lot of events have occurred. Over the past few days I have been doing extensive research on the devastation in Haiti. I have watched the news, looked on the internet, and talked with different people to see other loopholes to help this poor country. My school is sponsoring a Haiti relief fund. On Tuesday, I donated to Haiti in our UC, but I realize that I want to give more. My Intro to Public Administration professor talked about another way to give to Haiti besides money. Its a community bookstore where I am able to give clothes, food, and anything that might help. I am definately going to take a look at that. In addition to my interest in Haiti, Martin Luther King holiday just passed. It has been another great year since his passing and I was able to see the community effort with service on this great day. The community, better yet, the world has been inspired by this great individual and will continue to be inspired by him for centuries to come. Lastly, I have unfortunately come down with the flu. So, my week has been a little difficult but I plan to get better, hopefully soon!
